If you have not done the airbag recall, you might be in luck. Hopefully, the dealer will fix what ever the problem was when they do the recall. Otherwise you are look looking for a big bucks. Airbags are not cheap. Bottom line, take your SC to the dealer.
I just checked with Toyota and there are no recalls for this vehicle. Another question; will a regular obdII analyzer work?
I thank you for your input.
I'm guessing that the only reason that there is no recall listed is that the air bag recall has already been taken care of. You might ask the dealer when it was done or check on the Lexus website (after registering) to see when it was done.

It sounded very fishy to me. Air bag recalls are for all SCs ( and other Toyota vehicles). The dealer should be able to tell you if the recall was done, and when it was done. The code reader won’t help because it will point you to the air bag problem.
Go to Lexus web site, you could find out more infos about your SC. Good luck.
2004 sc430 with 37k miles. The airbag light just came on. How do I deal with it?
Welcome to the board. the easiest way to find out your SRS problem is to get the lexus codes out of the system. You can do that by going to the dealer or by finding someone with Techstream (Do a search on this board, it is possible you may want to spend the $25 and get your own copy)
In the meantime, we can try to troubleshoot the problem by gleaning the low hanging fruit.
I just got the car with the airbag light on. I did get the code which points to the passenger side srs. The car is going to the dealer tomorrow. Will let you know. Thanks for your suggestions.
I don't know if I am updating my post properly but I just got back picking up my sc from lexus dealer. Got lucky. The clip fell off the pass airbag causing the electrical connection to fail. Thanks to all you members that replied to my post.
