I have a 03 sc430 and the doors pop when opening
its the little bar that comes out the inside of the door and is bolted to the inside of the door frame....
what is that part called or can you give me a part number

There was a thread last summer. Someone on here bought a new one and installed it. For the same reason you are talking about. Wish I could remember who it was.

The popping sound you hear opening the door is a worn tension pin on the body frame side. A $5 part in the LS (new part), but in the SC you have to replace the entire door check assembly, about $100 . Doubt a salvaged part would be any better. A good test is to compare driver’s to the passenger’s door for the noise. If you do proceed with the replacement, make note of the assembly’s orientation before removing it from the door panel.

yup, i just ordered a new one, 116 bucks
