the corner of my driver's side window that is nearest to the rear view mirror has an issue. the piece of plastic/rubber is not allowing the window to roll up perfectly. i can get it to work by opening the door and rolling it up. when i try with the door close, the window automatically goes back down due to that piece i described earlier.
Have you tried to press it back in place ? I believe the molding slides into a channel and if it came out you should be able to get it back in I would start at the end where you can see its seated in the channel and then try and press it back in. You may need a putty knife to help but be careful of the glass. I have not had to deal with this issue perhaps some other member could provide more feedback

Do a search for sc430 wind noise and you will find threads that have pictures of us replacing this piece. It should give you a better understanding of how it is put together.

i tried to work with it, but pulled a long rubber piece out....it does roll up correctly, but i am guessing i shouldn't leave it like this...
(BTW, I'm guessing that your weatherstripping has split and definitely needs replacing.)
What part of Texas are you in? (I'm north east of Dallas/Plano.)
I am in Fort Worth. I took the rubber piece out. I know this isn't the best solution, but the window rolls up quickly for the first time and there is zero wind noise. My guess is there is a chance of water getting in.
I am really concerned about the VSC lights (and check engine light) being on. I am not experienced in working on cars, so I am apprehensive as far as trying to fix that. Any chance you are good at those things? I will pay you of course.
No, I haven't bought or fabricated the tool that Mandyfig posted about, though it is fairly easy. (We are probably 1 1/2 hour apart, if I had to guess.) But if you follow the directions in one of the posts of just shorting the two pins together, it ought to be fairly easy to do. I'd certainly be happy to look at it if we get the chance though.
