Default Need some help, passenger side rod has snapped (Pics)

Took my car in to service, synthetic oil change, transmission oil changed, differential oil changed...

I went under and checked to see if everything is ok, turns out this thing has rotted away to the point you can rip it right out:

Can someone help me identify this part? Is there any upgrades I can do like a sway bar for both sides of something?

Exhaust has been rusted pretty good too, I think I need new gasket cos it must be leaking... Very tempted to get new exhaust:

This picture is for the DIY Fog Light install I posted here:

The first photos are of the one of the eight body braces. It's front "rear" brace vs front brace (passenger side) ... part costs about $40. They are there to improve the torsional rigidity of the body. The part number is 52257-24010.

You're probably right about the exhaust gasket....a $4 part but I doubt they'll get it apart without having to cut the bolts. If they damage to exhaust pipe assembly it gets real expensive to replace those parts.

Question: Is there any aftermarket improved parts for this?

blitz makes a bolt-on exhaust, a couple people have them on here. i recommend something custom.

daizen makes sway bars, but I dont think that's your sway bar that's rotted

edmondt, what environment does your SC operate in? Mine is an '02 and not a speck of rust on the underside.

That's severe corrosion. Bad.

These are braces for the body, not sway bars.... I doubt there is any aftermarket other than a shop to custom fabricate them.

I'm in Toronto Canada... I bought this SC not too long ago, its an 02 and I think I got a pretty good deal

The body is in pretty good shape, underneath is a different story with the salt and grime during winter.

I guess I will just be buying the passenger front brace (52257-24010). The car shakes when I hit the brakes, I know the alignment has been done, new brakes were installed, I just hope that the rotors are not warped.

Go to a shop to get the rotors turned. Cost me $120 and the shaking when braking is gone.

Lexus rotors are thick and can be turned a few times.
