Default Car Bogging Down

I wonder if some one can help i have a 2002 SC when coming to a stop and then accelerating the car hesitates for few seconds before taking off its scary when getting on to highway.
Once it gets going then its smooth.

You may be experiencing the lag that is inherent to all of these cars, due to fly-by-wire throttle system. You may want to try putting your car in the "Power" mode. I found this helps a little bit - at least it seems so.
There is also a mod you can do with a Blitz controller that eliminates the lag.

What year and how many miles on it? Have you tried adding fuel injector cleaner to the gas tank? Just something you might try for a "cheap" fix.

Good Luck, Cliff

It also could be the Throttle Position Sensor.

Pearlpower talked about it in another thread...check this out and see if it sounds familiar. May require a trip to the dealer to fully diagnose.

The full thread is here but, there's not much other useful information in it.

The "VSC" switch will bog it down. Try turning it off when your really getting on the gas.

Its a 2002 with 38000 miles i normally use 97 some times 95 and yes putting VSC off makes it better
my mechanic also advised injector cleaner if problem persists than TPS would be worth investigating.
Many thanks

It really sounds like the ECU has just reprogrammed its accelleration profile. Just run it in the power mode for two tanks of gas and it will likely get much better. (It did for me.)
