I absolutely love the subtle V8 growl that emits from the SC430 at this point, however, naturally I have questioned the sound that would result sans or without resonators.

Has anyone modified the stock exhaust for a sportier/throatier sound (I'm hopeful for AMG S/CL Class type music )?

I don't have any sound clips, but I just removed my muffler and had the pipes extended to the rear.

 

Tommy, what kind of noise is now produced with your new set up?

 

Hard to say, but I am louder than my friends gs400 with a full cat back exhaust. Probably a good 10-15% louder

If I had to choose I would say it sounds like a mustang GT, or a similar v8 camaro,


I personally love the sound, at first I thought it was a little too loud, but I find myself wanting it to be louder now.



Ill try to get a clip in the next week and post it up

 

I changed the headers after that clip, got even more roar now
