Nav CD upgrade
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to get my hands on a 2005 Nav CD w/o paying the ludicrous price my dealer is asking? Is eBay a valid source? Are these discs burnable? Does anyone have this disc and want to sell it?
Thanks in advance

I've been watching ebay for nav updates for a while and I've only seen two of the 4.1 versions for sale, both by the same seller. The first one went for $297 (plus shipping) and the current one has a buy it now price of $259 (plus shipping). I have no way to know what these really are.
Sewell Lexus (lexusparts.com) has it for $288 (plus shipping). For my money, that's the way to go if you need/want the latest one. The 3.1, 3.2 and 3.3 updates (2004) sell on ebay for $100-200 each. I bought one of those (3.1) and it is the real deal.
They are not copyable unless you have a source for blank DVDs with capacity larger that 4.7GB. My DVD burner will handle the larger capacity disks but I can't find a place to buy them. Just for the record, the only reason I was attempting to copy this COPYRIGHTED product was because the one I bought had a few scratches and I thought a copy might work better.

I attempted to install v3.2 in my system (from the 2000 v1.0 that came with my '02), and it wouldn't read it. And this was the DVD that came from a friend's '04 ES330. It made me wonder if there are specific sub-versions that work with the SC. Any experts on this?
It's definitely time for an upgrade. But I think I'll make sure it works in my system before I drive away from the dealer.

I went from 2001.1 to 2003.1 without a problem. Actually, I expected it to update the system and do something obvious while it did that. It didn't but, when I go to the setup area and "click" on the DVD button, I get that it has 3.1. It doesn't seem to operate any differently.
Oh, and I think the ES330 has the new generation equipment.

i think until certain version in 04 they dont' work with the old nav anymore. the 04 ls430 is the first one to have the 4th generation nav, where it's a completely different system. i know starting in 05, a lot of lexus models (sc430, etc...) they all have the 4th gen. i am not sure about 04 sc430 though
