Default SC400 TitanG545 Build

I was getting close to the end of my 240z build, engine done, and was just waiting for the word from body shop to have it shipped up. However with everything going on right now the build has been put on hold indefinitely until Florida can act right. However looking at other builds I am getting inspiration and thinking of getting started. I traced it back to the first day I bought my SC, it was November 13th 2016 Cowboys vs Steelers. My wife's family are are Pittsburgh and huge Steeler fans and my step-father in law are Cowboy fans so they were over. I drove out to MD about 35/40 mins away and test drove the car.

The guy was hesitant to sale it and wanted to get it inspected first. I knew the build I had in mind so I really didn't care about all that he said was wrong with it. I didn't hear any noises when I drove it and could careless about anything else. Drove her home after placing my Tundra's license plate on it.

I can't believe it is about to be 4 years, I don't have many pics here at work will certainly look to document this journey over the coming year or so. As well as post more pics with the interior upgrades I have done so far. I have been mostly been focusing on the sound system and minor maintenance so far.

I will try this again, sorry for the lack of updates I am trying to juggle three different build projects. A 240z with an RB25 being built for it, this car is getting a complete teardown and build from the frame. An MR2 that is trying it's darndest to not continually run and give me problems. Lastly recently picked up an SC430 that I keep telling myself I will just upgrade the suspension and wheels.

Here are some of the first couple of pictures I took after getting the SC400.

Here she is, pretty clear in what I was looking for. A clean SC400 that was running and I could daily drive.

I don't know it looks pretty clear from what I can tell.

Appears that a much higher vehicle had a little brushed with the rear quarter pannel

Initially, I wasn't a fan of the spoiler, in time it has since grown on me. I don't know I guess I wanted something more flashy. I don't recall it being on the Carfax but looks like the rear bumper has been repainted because the color looks off.

Obviously you can't see but that gas lid is holding a disaster at bay. The gas cap didn't seal properly so gas would leak out and discolored the area right outside the lid.

This picture, unfortunately, doesn't do it justice, the hood shape wise is fine. However I don't think any wax was used because the clear coat appears to have come clear off.

When I was negotiating with the owner he mentioned that the motor in the tilt steering wheel is broken. However I am the only one who drives the car so I adjusted it how I want and don't worry about it.

The seats are eventually going to get replaced, however, the passenger seat has a very weird thing going on. The front portion of the seat the leather is very hard to the touch. Unsure what happened.

Here is one of the few pictures of the stereo system before I replaced it. As you can see the surrounding is cracked around the central AC vent.

I have a vision in my mind what I want the car to look like I just can't wait to put it together and show what I have in my mind. With everything going on and being closed I am really thinking of just doing the 2J swap now instead of waiting until the end of the year. Subscribe if you want, the updates will be few and far between but in the long run, hopefully you will be pleased.

I got a printout of the stereo setup I have, I decided to work from the inside out, as to prevent a all show and no go look with my car.
JL Audio XDV2 1000w 5-CH amp
JL Audio 13" enclosure
BlackVue DR750S dual dash camera (I have been involved in to many accidents where we both say different things and I end up screwed in the end)
Focal 6.5 speakers
Focal 4" 2 way speakers
Kenwood KDC-X998 (not the flashiest, however, trust there is a method to my madness)
Installed steering wheel controls

I hope I don't come off as showy or pompous that isn't my intention, message me and let me know if I am.

Looks like a good one which just needs a little TLC Its common for the bumper to fade differently on these cars since they are plastic, but it could have been repainted hard to say.
As long as all the metal parts are the same color you are in good shape

Hey Titan,
You can fix that tilt steering for a quarter using a garden hose washer bought at the local hardware store. There are several articles on this Forum that tell you how in detail. I repaired mine three years ago and have not had a problem. By the way there was someone on ebay selling the factory style washer also. Expect to pay more.
Good luck with your acquisition,
Bimmerbill

A couple months ago driving to work, hit a **** deer, broke my headlight and fog light, also bent back a piece of the driver's side fender.

A week later I ran over a deer in my SC. I didn't know how much light I lost with that one headlight cracked. I was so PISSED and decided to stop driving the SC for a few weeks also stopped driving those backroads so early.

Picture of my baby up in the air getting an alignment. The mechanic showed me that running over the deer appears to have loosened the flange that holds the exhaust in place.

I had to order that and had it installed. You can kind of see that the exhaust is hanging kind of low on the far side.
