SC300 vs SC400 insurance costs?
Are there any major differences between the two models, considering the latter has 2 more cylinders/more HP?
The SC3 is a 98 and SC4 is 92, if that makes a difference.

At this point I wouldn't think so with the age of even the newest 1st gen SC's. I'm sure there is a small difference but not by much. Unfortunately these cars were not thought of in the same way as something like a BMW 840 or 850 CSi V-12 6-speed (meaning the horsepower increase due to extra cylinders).
It's *possible* that 98-00 SC400's might insure for more given their 290hp rating but given the original customers these were marketed towards and the great similarity between the JZ and UZ models I would think insurance has a lot more to do with common cosmetic and structural parts than the number or cylinders or original horsepower ratings.
Your SC300 98 would insure for slightly more than you 92 simply due to it being newer.
Good question though. I'd search a bit on the existing insurance threads for a clear answer but I'll bet you'll find what I said to be close to the truth.

Well, there are a lot of variables come to play like, your age, your messed up driving record , your year of the car, who your insurance with and what kind of a bundle you get
Based on that I would say not much of difference, I pay 15 a month for a liability on my 2000 400

^^ This +1. If it helps: 93 SC300 (manual) 200K+ miles. $89/mo with full coverage. Over 25. I can't remember if my deductible is $500 or $1,000, sorry. I'm sure there are cheaper deals from other companies but I'm not interested. Edit: Forgot to mention I have a clean record for that rate.
