Default Some progress (98 SC300)

Bought the car for the Daughter. She wasn't interested. Decided to play with it, because I liked the way it drove. Kids loss. Found a new set of Espelirs on Ebay, bought them, USPS lost 2, so everything was on hold. Bought wheels, tires, pads, rotors, struts and shocks while waiting on the springs to be "found". Fast forward 2 months and surprisingly find 1 front and 1 rear spring on Ebay about 30 miles from my house. Whats the chances? Anyways, took Sunday and did some install work. I plan on redoing the audio system, recovering the seats, having the windows retinted and spraying her back RR. Anyways, before and after:

Ive always been a "Domestic" guy. I really like the way this car drives. I hope to make it a really fun DD. Sorry for the crappy "sail foam" pics. We'll get some better ones when we start the interior work.

Thanks Guys! Yeah, the Kid is missing out. She found a low mileage E46 Coupe, White on Tan, she fell for it. I'm a big fan of most things "Ze Germans" produce, so I can't complain. Plus I got the SC out of the deal. I looked at several before buying this one. It seems as though a majority of the SC's have had a rough life? Interiors look like dog fights were staged inside. The ones I looked at in Atlanta anyway. The pictures I posted are horrible. My Wifes nervous as I have a touch of CDO (OCD in alphabetical order) and have a tendency to "over-do" things. I was told that we just needed to sell the SC, but I chose to play with it a bit. Now I like the way it drives so I may have to get rid of something else? I love Automobiles. That's my hobby. I've got a 77 Early Bronco that's fun, a couple of lifted 250's, a Fox Coupe, a S197 Racecraft that makes nice numbers, a 330 Ci that is an absolute pleasure, and now the SC. The wheels are TSW Nurburgrings, 10's in the back, 9's up front. Bought them for a Mustang build, but I bolted them on the SC and was well pleased with the fitment. This is a great forum you guys have. Tons of info. I do feel that I'm a little late to the party, but I don't see these cars locally. That's enough of my tangent. Please excuse any grammatical/punctuation issues. I'm supposed to be printing now!
I did go ahead and get most of the PM done. Changed the timing belt, water pump, cam seals, tensioner, hoses, plugs and degreased everything. Suspension bushings looked good when I was underneath, so I skipped them. Rides great. I probably should have went with a coilover setup, but I have no intentions of trying to make a really fast car here. I'm amazed that the engine runs like it does with 157K on it. I understand the Toyota loyalty a bit better now. Now, to get rid of this dreaded hum through the speakers and get this interior up to par.

Nice pick up, seems your in the right direction. Other than what has already been done, any plans for more power on it?

Funny YOU should ask. I was just reading up about LS swaps! I've been promising myself for a few years now that I would tackle a LSX swap. I was thinking it would be in an older Chebby truck, but....the more I mess with this little SC the more I like the platform. You all are in "the know", but I am really surprised with just how much I like this car. Never was truly a fan, guess I've been blind? I like the seating position, the simplicity of the interior design, the ride quality, the brake feel, the weight of the doors....I'm actually surprised with myself. Never really was a fan of Red either, now every time I pull up to the shop I smile when I see it. I find myself grabbing the keys to it instead of the Mustang. "Running to get a RedBull, Y'all need anything?"
I got the car thinking: 6 cyl, rear wheel drive, auto, cold a/c = perfect kid car. Now I'm devouring as much info on the car as I can. I've wanted a nice auto/turbo setup for a while. That's got me thinking. I'm torn right now because I'm purchasing some new equipment for my print shop, and the thing runs like a sewing machine. I've made a list of things I want to tackle, in a very specific order. I stop around #7 though. No sense in painting it if I'm yanking the front end off and getting to work. I'm trying to pace myself. Pulled the interior today. Everything but the dash. Found about $4 in change, a couple of dead insects, even a few party favors. Dynamat and stereo are coming together this weekend. I want to cover the seats, but having a hard time deciding on a quality kit. Pretty sure I'll go with a perforated insert, just tripping on the color difference. If it's significant, it will drive me crazy. After the interior....we are at paint/swap decision time. I guess business will dictate that.
So, that's the Novel-version.
Short version : Considering swap, need marriage, because Wife.
