im thinking of buying a sc300 for my first car and was wondering what was the difference between a sc300 and a sc400? Also if there is any major problems with any year with the sc300?

I believe I've mentioned this before in a similar thread...But from what I understand, The SC400 has a better power to weight ratio and therefore better fuel economy....While the SC300 has more aftermarket support for it...It all depends on what you want to do...If you're all about doing performance modding on the SC, go with the 300 (Especially since MT is available with it), If you're in it just for practical daily driving, Go for the 400...Sometimes, I wish I could've gotten an SC400 instead of an SC300.

Motor.

SC300=3.0 Liter 6 Cylinder
SC400=4.0 Liter 8 Cylinder

CrazySC300 Is correct. There is MUCH more support for aftermarket MECHANICAL performance mods for the 300. Not saying there isnt ANY support for the 400 because there is TONS. There are just soooo many more configurations for the 300. As far as interior, suspension, exterior, etc they are the same. I have a 400 and wouldnt dream of anything different. For me personally there is nothing that can ever replace that V8 sound and after I supercharge the Bi*#h Ill be plenty happy with the power. As far as trans....I see Getrag 6 sp conversion in my future
