I lied a little bit. It's a 3.90 TRD 2-way LSD!!!
Just got in from installing and testing out.
NO binding at low speed, not even in spring sand.
NO noises. Only filled it with 75w 140.
Awesome feel! You can tell how much more the rear is working, even when going straight!

I tried some drifting last night for fun, and as far as I can tell here's a couple key points:
1.170hp is definitely Not enough power for the 3.90 gear, especially through the automatic.
2. The TRD 2-way has great locking power, so sliding is easy no matter how you modulate the throttle, but in my case see point 1.
3. I may just turbocharge the engine I have now and rebuild the other one.

Sooo... you got the TRD lsd unit, and I just commented in the thread about the MK3 rear. Looks pretty awesome to see your car from start to this point, glad to see you stuck with it especially after a popped engine.

I took it out in a snow storm with the diff and some good studded snow tires, even hung with some Subarus!
I have ready to install:
-Aristo ECU / MAP sensor
-USDM GTE Lower intake
-USDM GTE Upper intake/TB
-USDM GTE Camshafts
-USDM GTE Cylinder head
-USDM GTE 550cc injectors
-02' GE Oil pump and crank sensor
-AEM FIC 6
-1zz Internally ignited coil packs

That is some crazy snow. I would hate to live there. I thought for as second you were going to hit the building. LOL
