Default Door locks keep unlocking by themselves

I have a weird problem, don't know if its a coincidence but it all started after the crazy rain socal had this past week. When Im driving the car the doors keep unlocking. I have to drive with my hand on the lock switch because the sound is driving me crazy. Also if I lock the car and come back the doors are unlocked when I get back, which means the doors are unlocking even when the car is off.

it seems like the driver door lock is acting up. Sometimes it wont lock, wonder if thats causing it.

Just as NEbiker said, it could be that the car is sensing that your door is open; most models wont let you lock the door with the keys in the ignition and the door open.
Is it only the one door that is doing it?

I had this problem in an MR2. Problem ended up being caused by some broken wires in the harness between the driver's door and the chassis.

I had this problem "kinda". It was mostly related to the window now going up or down. When you hit the switch to go up or down it would make a frying sound, meening there was power there but not enough ground. So when i would open the door, alot of the time the locks would pop like you are describing. Just like MrBrock was saying it turned out to be a bad ground wire. If you look @ the window switch there is a white w/black stripe wire that goes to the switch, which is bigger than the rest of the wires. like 10-12gauge. that wire goes from there down & feeds into the main part of the harness & goes all the way to the door open detection switch. in the door handle box. @ the middle of the harness it Y's & goes back to the fuse box in the kick panel. This could be your problem.
I replaced that wire from the switch to the factory splice & from the splice to the fuse box & added a extra ground off the wire to a main ground point & problem solved. Window worked & no more locks popping. That problem also effected the dome light when the door was open.

beat me too it. My old SC had this problem, I cut the rubber surround on the wirews between the frame and the door and sure enough, broken wires. patched em up and never had a problem again!

My guess, like the others have stated, is the wiring in the door that's causing this.
