Ebay has two lcd's for sale. If you review my thread on Ebay lcd you'll see the ebay screen name of the guy that sells the better of the two. There's a big difference in quality between the two offered on ebay.I don't remember which seller sold the good one, but it is in my thread.
is the backlight still lit up with none of the coloring in it? if so check your cig lighter bay, might be a penny in there blowing your fuse. fixed mine last night
I have the same problem i think. Just the screen doesn't light up but all the buttons do around it. If its just a fuse is it in the drivers side kick panel?
I had some guys in South San Fran replace the bulbs for both the button backlighting and LED screen. Back in '06 it was $195 plus shipping.

I met them in person when I dropped it off during a business trip to Cali...good guys; just give 'em a call and make sure they still do it. Mine hasn't had a single problem in the 4 years since I had it done.
If its just the backlight, dont replace the whole thing. Replacing the light whether it be with oem bulbs, leds or cold cathodes will only cost you about $10 and an hours worth of work and its extremely easy to do. but if the lcd screen is actually pooped out, well then youre s.o.l.
Im getting ready to replace my climate control backlight with a red cathode some time next week so Ill make sure to post a DIY for everyone.

Nope. These cars are 20 years old and the site is 12 years old. (FYI, I converted the cathode climate in 2003 myself and pics are in the ice blue thread). Then Jose did it in like.....2005-ish.
