So I guess the soldering points aren't small enough to use acid SMD soldering flux grease? I would think so.... I work on iPods and iPhones and most of the solder points on them need flux. I would assume the LCD contacts aren't much bigger...
Good to know I can DIY.
I too replaced my own climate LCD screen back on my old 92 SC and it took a little patience but wasn't too difficult. Definitely have a solder sucker on hand to clean all the old solder off before soldering on the new screen. I also changed out the bulbs while I was in there. Though the aftermarket bulbs are not nearly as bright as the oem bulbs, so you may want to find good LED replacements or brighter oem spec grain of wheat bulbs. If you do use LED replacement bulbs, I read that lightly sanding the tip of the bulbs helps reduce hotspotting and distributes lighting better.

Here's how big they are,
And no I didnt use flux. Maybe I should have.... Idk much about soldering though, just enough to get me by with Rc electronics and connectors

That's the email address I have as well. I've used Lextech in the past for my cluster. I think I can handle the soldering of the LCD screen. I have an extra climate control unit I can practice on if needed.
Just curious though, are all climate control units universal?
