Cool What is the average temp. in the engine bay?

I was wondering what the average temp. is because im still deciding on which material is best for the top cover of my BFI.
So far i have alloy, carbon fiber, and polyproplyene in mind. any suggestions??

MUCH APPRECIATED!!=)

I had a lexan cover for mine for a while, but found it made no difference in performance, but it looked cool.

i don't think you have anything to worry about as far as heat and melting the material goes.

yea, i guess i want something that looks better and cleaner than my "forsale" sign lol.
so whatever material i get, say for example fiberglass with resin, i wont have to worry about it spontaniously combusting? cause yea i agree, it doesnt get THAT hot by the airbox..and not that i would want to use fiberglass with the diy resin but yea. i think im just gonna go with polyproplyene.

i'm using acrylic plastic right now and it looks fine, but if you are REALLY worried about it get POLYCARBONATE. Its a lot harder to shape, but it will definitely hold up to the heat for sure.
