Default 3M Wrap engine bay covers?

Thinking of having a 3M carbon fibre wrap on my IS250 engine covers/airduct panel, side panels..

Has anyone had this done and does engine heatr affect it in anyway?

I'm 50/50 on either 3M CF wrap of paint in body colour blue onyx pearl?

SOrry. No personal experience.

i can’t imaine a wrap withstanding that amount of heat in the engine bay. Even if it’s a very tight wrap around the parts, i feel like it would peel eventually due to heat while operating, cold when garaged, and the high amount of wind.

But then car hoods are wrapped all the time and it doesn’t peel.

id say go for it but make sure it is wrapped perfectly, not half asses and use good wrap like 3M or Avery

You would probably have a better chance of getting it painted. Like mentioned above it will likely not last long with heat, and humidity.

Getting it to stick to a textured surface would likely be an issue too. Especially if along the way someone sprayed silicone or other products on it to make it shine.

I would get it painted instead, unless the guys installing it can give you a money back guarantee.

It could potentially work, but over time it’s likely to bubble. Painted is the way to go and looks awesome.

We we have a big thread on it but some pictures are no longer supported

Real carbon fiber is the way to go.

Hydro dipping looks way better than any vinyl wrap
