Power Steering

1992 SC300. I found the following but it did not specify which particular seal(s) requires replacement. Can anyone shed light on this please.

Leaking power steering pump: Some of the older coupes have a faulty seal in the power steering pump, which can leak power steering fluid onto the alternator and destroy both parts if the problem is neglected. If you have an older high mileage coupe, be sure to monitor your pump for signs of seep or leakage. Replace the seal for ~$1 or rebuild the PSP for ~$125.

I can't still locate where the leak is coming from. I suspect that the leak might be coming from the reservoir cap (yellow line) itself because the surrounding and adjacent components are wet/soaked with ATF. I don't think the leak is coming from the vacuum hoses (pink) but I replaced both just in case since they are old anyway. Anyone has experience on this? My thanks in advance.

power steering leaks and car wont stay started

I have 92 sc300 and now it has stop running i guess the pwer steering leaked into alternator so if anyone nows the difficulty on fixing this please let me know

That's not the P/S pump. That's the reservoir.

It's probably the seal in the front of the power steering pump where the pulley attaches. There's not that many lines going to the pump itself, so if those aren't leaking, look at where the pulley attaches. It's similar to the front main seal on the engine block.

I dont want to revive an an thread but I am going to do so because mine is making a squeeking noise I think.

For the SC300s, correct me if I am wrong, the power steering pump is on the other side of the engine, not under the ps pump. Thats the SC400
