Default Tein CS vs Tein Flex

I have been planning to buy coil-overs since I first bought the car and I was in no rush until I found out that the Tein CS is being discontinued.

After doing some researching on here, I narrowed down my choices to the Tein CS and the Flex. I have to make a decision quick because if Im going to get the CS, I must use a credit card or save up quick because it is discontinued. If I decide to go with the Flex, I wouldnt be any rush.

I basically drive 40 miles a day in the city traffic and occassioanally do some canyon runs. Needless to say, comfort is pretty important. Here are my concerns with the sets. Within a year, I am also planning to ride on 245-35-19 and 275-30-19 tires.

1. In regards to the CS, it is a given that it is really comfortable but can it handle well up in the mountains with the stiffest setting?

2, For the Flex, is it comfortable at its softest setting?

This is what I was told by an importer here in Sydney. The Tein CS and Tein Flex are not in the same category of suspension set up, one is more track oriented than the other. The Flex can be set up to drive stiff (not too unforgiving) for the street but is more suited if you track the car. The CS is suited for street and street only. It's not suited for track or real hard driving because the valving and spring rates are too soft.

Mabey The Tein SS will be perfect to you, I asked a couple of members and they said the ss is pretty comfortable and cheaper.

I have the Flex's they are very manageable around town on there soft settings. I personally prefer mine stiff and will keep them at the middle or stiffest setting most of the time. Even on the softest setting they are significantly stiffer than the stock setup. When I am in the city (pothole city) I will switch it to the soft setting and will be okay.

New model coming out? I just switched from Flex to CS because I wanted the comfort, there is a huge difference between the two...

If you're looking to slam your car, the Flex will be able to go lower than the CS...

For reference, this is my car slammed on Tein CS's...can't go any lower...

Just a clarification. The Teins for the different cars have different setups in terms of spring rates. In this case, the rates for the Flex on the GS are not the same as the SC.

Tony, I think ur car is at a perfect height. U dont really need to drop it any lower. Just my opinion. Im just really paranoid about turning a comfy cruising car into a loud bumpy tuner car.

From a very reliable source, it is said that Tein discontinued the CS due to lack of demand and high cost of production. Morever, it is also said that the replacement model would be inferior to the current CS
