Everything on my remote start works great except fot this also. What I do in the mornings if the car is remote started is get in, turn the key, hit brake pedal to dissengage remote start, then hit my number (1) preset on the door. Steering wheel come right down, Sounds longer than it really is.

mine doesn't work when you remote start it but it works fine when you put the key in. just a quirky thing with all the bypassing and activating the ignition and accessory wires. i just live with it cause i don't want to tear it all down and try to figure it out. i mean it still works fine without remote start.
The auto tilt is activated by the key-in sensor in the ignition cylinder.
If you are doing ANY electrical work on your own car, I strongly recommend the electrical manual. It explains the entire car in color and only costs like $15. It's worth it's weight in diamonds.
It made my alarm install a breeze.

well heres what i found with my tech support data base,
When doing a remote start...In order for the telescoping
steering wheel to work there needs to be 4 relays installed.
If these are not added, then the customer must shut off the
remote start and restart the vehicle. Relay 1. Locate and
remove 10mm bolts securing the fuse box under the
driver's side under dash. Locate plug 1J, both wires test
12v with the key in the run position. They should be
blue/green & blue with brown dots, but some years vary.
To verify, remove the 20A fuse marked for the wipers (both
wires should lose power in the run position). Cut both of
these wires and tie them together( they both are common
in the fuse box). 87A-blue/green&blue/brown dots (away
from the fuse box). 85-to remote start blue(-)status out
wire. 86-12v. 30-both wires to fuse box side. Relay 2.
Remove the 10mm bolts holding the body ECU located in
the drivers kick. Locate plug B6, pin #9 (red/blue). Ccut the
red/blue wire & interupt with a relay. 87A-red/blue away
from ECU. 30-red/blue going to ECU. 88-12v.85-blue(-
)status from alarm. Relays 3&4. Locate the tilt and
telescoping ECU below the steering wheel. Find the red/blu
thats all that it went up to, but it seems like its really not worth it just to get the steering wheel to move a little...

Like CleanSC said several years ago, all that needs to be connected for the steering wheel to come down is the keysense wire. Which can be connected to a status output of a remote start unit.
