I have a viper 5900 alarm with remote start for almost 4 years now. Haven't had any issues with it. Only thing is you need to press memory button in order for steering wheel to get in to a desired position.

I have no direct experience but participation on multiple forums over the years has given me the impression that 3rd party remote start systems are responsible for occasionally introducing some gremlins and problems to the point in some cases where the car will sometimes intermittently not start at all remote or otherwise.

yuri.ber, do you have a regular key or a smart key?

the installer that put the system in has been a trusted acquaintance (has done all my systems in several vehicles i have owned & is a professional installer). but he has never done a toyota/lexus with a smart key install before. after it was installed, he said that unfortunately the only way it would work is that it will start the car. but the system has to be turned off in order to actually drive away. it's like when it is remote started, the car is in a sort of lock mode. you can't turn the ignition on while it is remotely started. so you have to tap the brake in order to deactivate the remote starter, then everything works as it should.

this isn't a big deal, but i was just wondering if there was a way around it.
