VSC light on
Or you could check your owners' manual . . .

It has something to do with the pressure in the gas tank being either too high or too low. That gets sensed by the computer and as a precaution it shuts off the vehicle stability control. And when this occurs the dealer has to reset it. Kind of wacky if you ask me...seems like an example of over engineering, and something that can happen too easily.
Anyway, thought I would pass this along. Was inconvenient to bring it into the dealer, but at least it was covered and I got a complimentary wash out of it!
I've never had a check engine light come of becuse of the gas cap on any OBDII car I've owned yet. My light stayed on for about a week then decided to disappear leaving no trace that it existed according the dealer. The couldn't pull any codes. So, in my case I don't think it was bad gas since I was still on the same tank of gas, it couldn't have been the gas cap since I never touched it. Too me, this is just one of those things that you'll never really know what caused it unless it happens again.
PS. If I recall, while this may seem like a minor issue, it is my understanding that when the VSC light is on that not only mean the VSC system is turned off. So, if you needed its help during that time when the light was on I think you'd be out of luck.
