Hi 5th Gen Forum members, perhaps someone can help me.
I have my Headlights "Auto on sensitivity" set to 'Brighter', however the headlight takes up to 10 seconds to turn on when driving into a tunnel or under a large overpass. I took my RX into the dealer, and they tell me that the setting can NOT be changed, and in fact they showed me that they get a message when attempting to change the Headlight Control using their computer tool. I have also tried to use the other setting "Darker" and it seems to make no difference in how fast the light turn on.
I had the same issue on my Toyota Tundra, but that dealership was able to fix it, but for some reason the Lexus dealer can not.
Anybody out there with technical contacts at Lexus?? Someone with knowledge?
You are talking about two different things. You have already found the sensitivity setting. It's the time delay that you are looking for, and that is not adjustable.
That’s a shame. All Toyota/Lexus cars for US market have this issue. My RAV4/RX500h in Europe turn on the lights as soon as I get in tunel/garage but both 5ES and 7ES need some 7-8 seconds.
I was not able to decrease the reaction time.
Did you figure out how to change the delay time? I am in US and my 2023 is350 also has a 10 seconds waiting time to turn on the headlight in darkness. I have no idea why Lexus set it that way.
Unfortunately no, the Lexus dealer refused to change anything and told me this was "normal". I have owned other cars (including toyotas) that the light turn on in 3 second, but for some reason this Lexus RX-350h take almost 10 seconds.

The dealer didn't "refuse" to change anything, they could not change anything. There is simply no setting to change. Blame Lexus for not making it a changeable setting.
