Question Auto headlight sensitivity

When I go under a small bridge on the freeway, the headlights come on for a few seconds, then turn off.
Is there a way to turn this off or adjust the sensitivity so that when it is really dark outside, they come on?

Mine doesn't have that option(dark/very dark) being the first 2022 model. I have light sensitivity set to -2 at the moment.
I can only select numbers.
Not sure what those numbers mean.

Thanks. Set it to +2 now. Will see how that goes.

This is from the Owner's manual. Doesn't really explain those numbers well.

I guess these bellow are equivalent to the new model infotainment system then right?
-2 = very light
-1 = light
0 = normal
+1 = dark
+2 = very dark

Do you have a very dark tinted windshield (<35%)? That could confuse the sensor to think it's darker than it really is.. I have mine on "Dark"; which by @ESh post, should be -1. I don't experience the under small bridges issue, but my windshield tint is 40% to be legally at >= 35%.

Illegal to have windshield tint in Australia. You can only tint/place sticker on the top section (just above where your wipers reach) of the windshield legally.
So no tint on the windshield.

Well hope the +2 works as you already had the -2 setting. Best of luck!

That's interesting.
I would have thought 2 would be very dark as mine seems to be really sensitive at -2 (meaning it comes on when it is very light outside going under a bridge momentarily).

I like that feature even in the daylight. If I’m going under a bridge and it gets that dark I want other drivers to see me!

Actually, it depends.
Some of the bridges I cross under, I wouldn't even consider it as "It is dark outside and I need to turn my headlights on to be safe and visible".
If there is heavy traffic and it takes longer to go under the bridge, then it is fine for it to come on provided it got a little dark.
But if you are going 60 miles/h with no traffic and takes a second to go under the bridge & it is still very light out,
it can confuse people as it may look like you just slammed your brakes for no reason as your parkers also come on when the headlights are on.
Hopefully +2 setting is the happy medium.

+2 is actually worse...
+2 means very light, I didn't even need to go under a bridge, it kept turning the headlights ON and OFF more frequently which is really annoying.
I don't think there is any way to turn the headlights off completely right?
It is either manually ON or AUTO.
There is no manual OFF switch right?

I would suggest you go to a Lexus dealer and have the sensors feature check. I can enter a tunnel and it will take 2-3 seconds to to switch on. I'm in the Dark setting (assume -1).

I know they can be turn off, at least on my USA model. I suggest to check the owners manual for your specific model region.
