Intermittent wipers stop working
I haven't heard anything, and the problem is still there for sure. I've just gotten into the habit of cycling the wiper system off and on to "reset" it. I doubt the dealer has a fix for it. Call Lexus USA and file a complaint. If enough people do, maybe they will take some action. On a car at this price point, its crazy that a simple feature like this doesn't work reliably.
I was told by the dealership that "Lexus is really good at delivering/fixing issues they are working on". I'm giving the dealership until before rain season starts again before I give them a hard time about it. At this point, the dealership was able to replicate the issue but they refuse to replace the rain sensor parts for a couple of reasons: 1 They did not find any errors with the rain sensors, 2 Lexus told them it's a chip issue that controls the rain sensor and that there is a ticket with Lexus to fix the issue. I was also told that the dealership will not be reimbursed if mess with the other parts. Very frustrated since I had other issues come up but I'm giving them a benefit of a doubt and wait...
I was on the road for about 2 hours today with light showers in the PNW and the strangest thing happened...the rain sensing wipers worked the entire time! In the past, it was common for my rain sensing wipers to stop recognizing the rain at some point of any drive, even short 10 minute drives. I made 2 pit stops during the drive to test out if it would still work since I was suspicious that it was a fluke and the rain sensing wipers worked the entire time, no issues at all. I've had my luxury model for an entire year now as of 2 days ago and this is the first time I've experienced the rain sensing wipers to work without any issues. Not sure what happened if an OTA update happened but it looks like I no longer have to follow up with my dealership for a fix?

It could just be wishful thinking, but after the OTA update (March??) the rain sensing wipers seemed to work. Since then I have had an issue once or twice but it still miss-behaves sometimes. I do think it is better though.
Could the sensitivity setting make a difference?
We haven't had any issues, but I don't like to operate wipers on relatively 'dry' glass.
So I set our control all the way 'down' so that there is more moisture before the wipers swipe.

I've tried all settings, I have the software update, I even tried not adjusting the sensitivity while wiping so as not to confuse the system - nothing works. I hope they do issue a TSB for this otherwise its going to be a problem for the life of the car.
That's essentially our experience as well. Sometimes the wiper respond automatically, but other times do not. Sometimes it will work automatically, and then just stop after a few minutes. I usually have to force the wipers to swipe once and then set them on the automatic setting to get the wipers to restart. Not a huge problem but annoying.
What I found strange, is if you have the wipers on, but not in auto mode and you reverse the back wiper automatically swipes which is awesome. What I found surprising is in auto mode with rain, in reverse the back wiper will not auto swipe.
Audi been doing this for years, so I was happy to see Lexus did do this but it seems odd it only does when set in manual mode.

How long should we wait for Lexus to address this issue? I was driving on the highway the other day in light drizzle. Auto sensing wiper didn't activate most of time, which was not only frustrating but also a safety concern.
