Default Intermittent wipers stop working

I experienced the "intermittent wipers stop working on their own" issue yesterday. Had some steady but spotty rain here. Wipers were working fine, then at some point they just stopped working totally no matter how much water collected on the windshield, had to cycle the switch to OFF and back to INT to get them to resume normal function.

We haven't seen a drop of rain since we bought the car in May so no idea if ours works correctly.

We have had this issue several times....wipers detect water and work great, then after half an hour they don't...so I reset. No a big deal, but something that should work better.
We have not had any surveys at all about our car.

It's got to be software - they have yet to issue a software revision for this car (that we know about), correct? What good is having OTA software updates if they never issue any fixes.

No kidding right?

I only used my wiper once since I got the car in June for bug splatter.

Have the same behavior with mine. Now over 8,000 miles it happens almost every time it rains. What has worked for me is to switch from AUTO to LOW and back and it seems to work for the rest of the drive. Didn't bring it up for my 5.000 mile service because how would they duplicate the problem. Hoping sometime down the road a software update will fix it but for now, mine has always "worked" just like yours is.

Indeed, I am not even going to mention it to Service since there is no way for them to fix it, absent a TSB or a software update to the car.

I've gone with that theory a few times, kept waiting, eventually I couldn't see out the windshield, so it was reset time for me.
It's done nothing but rain all summer here, so we've had lots of practice.

For all who are having this problem, they can produce rain with a hose.

The hose would have to be left on a fine spray for 20 minutes. It takes about 20 minutes for the intermittent/rain sensor function to simply stop working - requiring the toggle reset described here. You can't reproduce it with just a few minutes of hosing.

Time can be your enemy or friend. Turn your sprinkler(s) on at home and take a video?

To prove to Service that it's happening? Well sure, I guess that setup would work (assuming they were willing to watch the video). But they can't fix it anyway. Really, Lexus should have someone reading this board for owner reports like this, and send their own techs to reproduce problems reported here to get them on a "fix-it" list. The service advisors are always the last to know about an issue.

Has anyone gotten a fix for this or know if it is still occurring on new units? I will be taking mine in soon for the 5,000 mile service and was wondering if a problem or a fix has been acknowledged by Lexus.
