Default Rolling down windows using remote control key fob

So, this just happened today to my car

This cannot be programmed yourself with the car. The dealer must use their scan tool to customize setting for you.

the tech who turned this on for me claims Lexus had this functionality turned on from the factory in the past, but a lot of customers didn't like it so they turned it off for this generation of car

I need to do this too before summer comes lol. Does it cost anything to have them program it, or it's free service?

The service is free at my dealer's first service. They will reprogram what ever you as part of the free service.

After that, it is not free.

The default setting is off. It's part of the Lexus Personalized Settings. Dealer only programmable settings start on page 4. Number 27 concerns using the key fob to open the windows and moonroof. I'd recommend going through the complete list prior to your first free service.

Does everybody get a couple of free services at first?

The first 2 services are free. The first service at 5000 miles is mostly just inspections and tire rotation, but you can also have them program the custom settings. The second service at 10000 miles includes oil and filter change along with tire rotation and inspections.

When I got my 2014 IS I was given coupons for the first two free services but I didn't get those this time for the RX. My sale guy said I don't need the coupons to get those services. Do you know if that is true? If so, then I just have to show up at service department at 5000mi and 10000mi?

Don't need the coupons. I didn't even need them for my 2013 GS. Just bring it in and they know.

I remembered this feature on my old GS, thanks for posting.

I bought my car 500 miles away, can I get the first 2 free services at my local dealer (dumb question)?

Yup any Lexus dealer will honor the first 2 services (5K and 10K miles) as free.
