Engine Stopped!
I bought my 2019 RX 450 in Jan 2019 from my local Lexus dealer. I was driving 70 mph on the interstate, came off the exit ramp and my engine completely stopped while driving. I had to push my car out of the way of the other cars. I probably would have died had it happened only moments earlier when I was wedged between trucks. I have had a hybrid Lexus for years and never had this problem. But, this is a HUGE liability issue and could easily cause a death. I will be at the Lexus Service Center tomorrow at 7 am, but I am now honestly afraid of this happening again! Lexus needs to jump on this with both feet and give someone like me complete assurance that my relatively new hybrid is safe to drive.

Firstly, glad you are safe. FYI: a low pressure fuel pump recall will be out in March 2020, and yours may be included. Here’s a link, enter your VIN and find out. Be safe.

The fuel pump recall currently only applies to the RX 350. The hybrid 450h is not included, although we might have our own problems with the fuel pump in the hybrid.
OP, what was the level of your fuel when this happened? I've noticed that on my hybrid, if I let the fuel level get down close to where the warning light comes on (just below 1/4 tank), there's a faint knocking sound that comes from the rear near where the fuel tank would be. This is when the ICE is running. Haven't brought it in to the dealer to check yet though.

Every news source I've seen only mention the same list:
https://pressroom.toyota.com/toyota-...us-vehicles-2/
PLANO, Texas (January 13, 2020) – Toyota is conducting a safety recall involving certain 2018-2019 Model Year Lexus LS 500, LC 500, RC 350, RC 300, GS 350, IS 300, ES 350, LX 570, GX 460, and RX 350; certain 2019 Model Year Lexus NX 300, RX 350L, and GS 300; certain 2018-2019 Model Year Toyota 4Runner, Camry, Highlander, Land Cruiser, Sequoia, Sienna, Tacoma, and Tundra; and certain 2019 Model Year Toyota Avalon and Corolla in the United States. Approximately 696,000 vehicles are involved in this recall.
fwiw, I plugged my 2018 450h's VIN into the Toyota and Lexus recall sites, and it said there were no current Recalls on it. Where did you see the ES Hybrid on the list?

This is incorrect. Some hybrid vehicles ARE included with this recall as they use the same fuel pump as the non-hybrid. This according to the statement put out by Toyota today at this address:
https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/202...0V012-4705.pdf
The only comment I can find in that statement from Toyota relating to the hybrids is that, while some do use the same fuel pump, they are not included in this recall and will be addressed later in a customer service campaign. Am I missing it somewhere else?
This recall applies to vehicles with specific fuel pumps produced by Denso in which an increased rate of fuel pump failure is observed. Some hybrid models are equipped with the same fuel pump produced by Denso during this production period; however, if fuel pump failure occurs, these vehicles will enter a fail-safe mode, resulting in illumination of warning lights and reduced motive power in which the vehicle can still be driven for certain distances. This condition does not present an unreasonable risk to safety. Toyota intends to conduct a customer satisfaction campaign for these vehicles in the future. Other Toyota and Lexus vehicles are not equipped with same fuel pumps produced in the same production period or are equipped with different pumps.
Am I the only one suspicious about a poster who is trying to incite extreme fear regarding his/her hybrid RX and yet this is his/her very first time they have ever posted, and just joined CL this month despite having owned another Lexus hybrid “for years”? If this was an authentic post I would have also expected the poster to have answered some of the many questions asked in the subsequent posts and thanked the others who had posted useful information and links. I just don’t buy it.
