Default First scratch

Happens with every new car. Got my first small scratch on the plastic part of the front bumper while parking. Touch up paint ordered -as is tradition with first scratch. Now I don’t have to worry as much and can truly enjoy the great bones of the car!!

I always hate the first scratch. But it's inevitable. My first "scratch" was actually a small dent (smaller than a dime) because I didn't see a 18" tall pipe sticking out of the ground next to me when I parked and I opened the door. I still can't un-see it. Rashed one of my wheels too but I'm getting that fixed this summer. Outside of that, so far, so good.

Sucks getting a scratch or ding on new car, takes time getting used to the size.

I think I made it 90 days before I scratched the first wheel, in a fast food drive-through. I cursed for 10 minutes ...

You add the price of wheel scratch repair to the big mac. That'll be $150-$300 for the MacDonald's meal

LOL, I've got at least 2 scratched wheels at this point -- going for the quantity discount on wheel cleanups. ;-)

I brought the $800 package (original price $1,950) from the Lexus dealer when signing papers with the sales manager. Includes 5 year unlimited miles windshield repair/replacement (oem), wheel repair/replacement, tire repair/replacement, and paint-less dent repairs.

I thinkThink the $800 deal is quite good, had rock chip repairs and 1 windshield replacement for one of the my other cars. The wheel repairs might come in handy as well.

800 not bad if thats the deal unless they find exclusions as soon as you make a claim. "Your wheel was damaged before 8am on a Thursday so its not covered" I never buy extended warranties.

Yeah I went with the mindset of not getting anything at the manager's office, he offered a lot of other packages but this is the only one that gained my interest. You can't predict when a random rock might hit your windshield and those oem windshields are expensive. I try my best to avoid curb rash but I'm not the only driver of the car.

He showed me all the paperwork and the fine print. No lame exclusions, if they can't repair it then they will replace it with OEM parts, no deductible, 0 out of pocket.

Accepted at all Lexus dealerships and other dealerships that have this service.

Yeah didn't buy extended warranty. Have good faith in Lexus reliability.

Mine was Starbucks. What kills me is I actually found a CPO with 20k miles without a single scratch on it. But I'll get it fixed at some point. $200 cup of coffee I guess......

On my last car new car I made it 4 days and 550 miles on the odo before I got my first rock chip on my windshield. I was pissed because someone cut me off on the freeway and his tire picked up a rock.
