I just noticed a container containing some kind of fluid right next to the battery without any kind of cap.
Can someone please confirm it is normal for that container to not be closed?
Coolant reservoir tank.
Cap and hose is missing.
Probably dropped down the sheilds.
Who worked on it last?
You need that cap and hose that is missing or else when your cooling system overflows, coolant will be all over that area.

The goons that perform oil changes etc., are not the sharpest techs (if you want to call them that) in the service area. Don’t believe the 160 point inspections and all that, they use a boiler plate checklist, and all they’ve done is drain the oil and changed the oil filter, and they’ve more than likely over tightened both filter and drain plug. The rest of the service is visual, but most of their attention is to social media on their devices. Service at a stealership is a last resort for me.
It happened to me sometimes ago. It seems like a common problem for the service mechanic since the cap doesn't have a retainer ring around it like the windshield washer reservoir. I ended up buying the part from the dealer for the missing cap! Stealer charged $150 for oil change in LA with $230 hourly rate! Toyota tried to save 10 cents by deleting the retainer ring for the cap! I did a 5 cent mod with one zip-tie around the neck of the bottle & loop another zip-tie to the cap/hose so hoping that this will remind the mechanic to keep the cap when he/she adds the coolant fluid! I forgot how much the stealer charged me for the cap, could be more than $15, Damn Toyota!
