So I’ve had this feature on every car for a decade so I’m definitely doing it right. I have it on R so the mirror will show the curb when parallel parking. My passenger side mirror goes in but not down, then my drivers side mirror goes down but not in. Weird electrical gremlin, she’s a 19 RX350 with 6K miles that I’ve had since new. It definitely worked before last couple of months it’s been acting up. If I put it on L it does the same thing too, has anyone experienced this before?
Check your owners manual, there is a way to set the mirror go to where you want it to aim when backing up. If I could remember the procedure I would post it.
They were not always customizable, previous to around 2013 the mirrors would dip down an
arbitrary 5 degrees or so down from whatever forward driving position you had set. Still defeatable
by centering the selector rocker if backing up a driveway or ramp.
2022 RX350 premium Outside mirrors not working, it started when I shift to reverse, the passenger side mirror instead of pointing down shifted to point up, I tried again about 5 time still the mirror move up and not down as it should, I restart the car, shift to reverse and it did the same thing going up, I collapse the mirrors and brought them out manually, and then the mirrors stop moving when I shift to reverse, I move the mirrors up down lest & right all work, shift to reverse, but from that on mirrors do not when I shift to reverse, will schedule check at the dealer

Just shift the car in reverse (obviously keeping your foot on the brake) and adjust the mirrors to how you prefer for the reverse shift position. Once done, shift back into park. Now, when you shift into reverse again they should move into your saved position for backing up. (If your mirrors are not doing anything when you shift into reverse, verify your mirror adjustment switch for either L or R is enabled as its designed to be disabled if neither is on).
