Default Tire Vibration.....

Is there an easy way to know if a tire vibration at speed is tread wear vs out of balance, or does it have to go to a tire store to know?

Thanks,

Randy

Tire vibration is almost always out of balance, not tread wear.

I would start with rotating the tires and using a torque wrench see if it changes.

Why not have the "balance" checked on all 4 wheels/tires and "rotated" at the same time. See your local tire retailer for service and advice.

I know that question applies to rotors but didn't think about tires. But to answer your question - it's the front. It only happens when I'm going faster than I probably should be at about 85mph.

So you've isolated to the front. Have them road force balanced. That's different equipment than the traditional machine that just spins them in the air.
