Yes, we had the same thing on the GX and for that reason I never used it. Seat heaters and coolers work pretty good and a few minutes of inconvenience isn't the end of the world. Lexus didn't think this feature through in my opinion.

 

I know it's useful for some here in TX when they run out of their house to go to the store in shorts and t-shirts on a 30 degrees day LOL...

 

2020 rx 350 - Last night I had a very weird issue with the car. Tried to remote start it using the fob 3x lock sequence. At first it didn't start at all no matter what I did. Then at some point it started.
A few minutes later we went to the car, opened the doors, engine kept running. I've hit start+brake inside the car and that was it. Engine stopped and could be restarted no matter what I tried.
Dash illuminated but it refused to crank. The only weird thing was that the steering wheel remained locked. After trying to lock/unlock, remote start, regular start, it just didn't work, so I disconnected the battery for a few seconds.

After that the car started normally and drove without any issues. Remote start also works as expected for now and so far it kills the engine on door unlock as it should.
Did anyone have this happen? What is going on?

 

Sounds like when you have a problem with your laptop, they tell you to power off/power on. 9 times out of 10, it works!

 

@vic170 - sorry to bump this old thread, but did you ever get the remote start w/ key fob to work on the '16 RX350 through TechStream? I am trying to get this working again on my 2016 but don't want to buy another cable/software package if I'm just going to get stuck at the same spot in TechStream that you did. I say another because I have a cable/software from 2012 that I used to enable the remote start on my 2012 Highlander (after installing a physical hardware remote start module), but it doesn't seem to talk to the RX likely because the software is too old/out of date.

 

Can anyone confirm if you can or cannot remotely start your car with the key fob AFTER your subscription ends (and you do not renew it)? I have a 2022...
I've seen a lot of "I can" and "I can't" in this long post... wondering what final verdict would be for a 2022.

 

I got it to work first try on my 2021 then after that it never worked again. Still have subscription till end of august.

 

My 2020 will remote start after subscription. Press lock three times and hold on the last.

 

My 2020 RX350 remote start works fine, from the key fob, after my subscription ended and still works(although I SELDOM use it)
