Lexus Enform Remote Start
Hi folks,
I am considering subscribing to the Lexus Enform Remote service during the winter months ($8/month) to start the car remotely and warm up the cabin. I want to be sure the feature would work properly before I sign up. A couple of questions. Thanks for your help!
1) I have a dealer-installed remote start that works with my key fob. But this feature only works when the car is in line of sight, and less than ~200 feet away. Will the Lexus remote start work properly with this other remote start installed?
2) The Lexus site seems to imply the Lexus remote start feature requires good cellular connectivity to the car. So this means the remote start command is going over the cellular network and is not a satellite signal. Can anyone confirm this? I park my car at work on the second level of a covered 3 level garage, so a satellite signal could be blocked.

I’m sure it’s using 3g cellular signal to communicate with the car. My wife’s old 15 RX 350 had a Viper Smart Start which used the cellular to start the car. As long you have cellular signal where you park, it should work.
How much are they charging you for the remote start?
I had a quote to install Viper Smart Start on the LS for around $550 with 3 year subscription. They said I could use the key fob to start the car (within distance) in addition to the phone app (start anywhere in the world with cellular signal).

Thanks, Kuhan. My dealer-installed remote start is line-of-sight only, and does not use an app. It was installed on the new car by the first owner. I am the second owner.

I wish my 2013 has the remote start feature through Enform Remote. I think they started that feature in 2014+ model.

Thanks for the reminder! I should have checked again before starting this thread!
Lexus Remote Start is available for LS460 only from MY 2015! I must have forgotten about it. I am SOOL also! Oh well

You can upgrade your remote start to one with an App, Viper makes one I know...would work at least as well as the Lexus Enform Remote which works okay.

Haha ok. You and me both. Your next option is aftermarket like Viper Smart Start.

If it was installed by Lexus dealership, then most likely it's the basic remote start with key fob that Lexus offers. But it's worth a shot and call them to find out.

I have a 2015 Lexus ls460 F sport. Has anyone come across by installing a remote start for this car. I tried two professionals and it wouldn't work unless the radio 1 fuse is pulled out. Does anyone know?
