Default PCV DIY help

Anybody know where the PCV is located on the 3rd gen RX ? Or if anybody has a DIY on it? I've searched and only found a DIY for the 1st gen of RX.

Thanks

Can we ask why you are looking at the PCV?

Just doing some maintenance, I know it's not due yet but I wanna get an idea on how difficult it is and where it is located. Are 2nd gen and 3rd gens located at the same place?

That's for 08, which is a second gen rx which i'm assuming has a different engine or location for the PCV. Are you telling me that the locations are the same ?

Gotta be careful with assumptions, and I'll admit that I'm making a few here myself. The '08 (2nd Gen) has the same 3.5L engine as the 3rd Gens, so, yes, I am "assuming" (bad word, by the way) that the PCV would be in the exact same location for both generations of the RX. If I'm not mistaken, the differences between these two particular generations (Gen2 and Gen 3) had nothing to do with either basic engine or engine system design... just tweaked performance related issues, appearance issues, body styling, interior components/layout, and some electronics stuff. Consequently, the PCV should be in the same location for either generation.

I have to ask... Have you actually looked yet to see if the location description from that post is incorrect?

Maybe this will help. In that thread I linked, the OP never went back and edited the picture to show the location specifically, so I just took a few minutes and did it myself (picture below shows the PCV at the end of the red outlined yellow arrow). If you actually discover that this is in fact NOT the correct location, let me know and I'll retract my statement and remove the picture. The last thing I want to do is add confusion to any discussion.

Pete, 100% confirm, that is the right location for Gen3.

Thanks for the updated photo but I haven't had a chance to look at the engine yet- been raining all day this past Saturday. The weather is looking much better today so I'll take a look when I get the chance.

Just noticed that Vince22 had already confirmed.

Thanks!

Just for posterity, the arrow marked on the picture in F250's post [#7 in this thread] would be the breather tube location for gen1. The hose in picture is on bank 2 (towards the front of the engine). Bank1 is next to the firewall and that had PCV close to the end on the passenger side.

Above para applies to Gen1 RX.

Thanks for the confirmation (vince22) and additional details (salimshah). I've updated the photo in my previous post above with the extra information.
