Tire weight removal/sloppy work?
Was curious what others think about this practice. We took our RX to the dealership for service. Along with the normal service, they also found a screw in one of the tires. Since they already had the car, figured they should just fix that too. Ended up having to get a new tire because of it being located too close to the tire's edge. When we brought the car home, I noticed that they added more weights to the inside of the rim, however, they didn't remove the old ones. I would have thought that like the "old" weights that used to be mounted to the outside edge of the rim, when a tire is removed, they remove the old weights and then re-balance the tire by adding only new weights? Is this normal practice for wheels with the weights on the inside of the rim to not remove the old weights? Is it because the weights don't come off once put in place or was the mechanic that did the work just too lazy to remove the old weights?
Appreciate any insights.

I would take it back & ask them to recheck.
It does take a few minutes to remove the old weights first as the adhesive is pretty tough. Always start with a bare wheel & balance as needed.
