Automatic Trunk Close Button Question
Hi everyone! I have a quick question about my Lexus. I just bought an used 2010 RX350. It has a button on the key that automatically opens the trunk, a button on the left of the drivers side that automatically opens the trunk and the button on the trunk that automatically closes it (so you don't manual close it). But after I bought it, I noticed that when I push the button on the underside of the trunk it does NOT automatically open.
I bought it from a Lexus dealership so I took it to the service department to get it fixed as it's covered under warranty right now (and I assumed it was broken) but they said my model did not have this feature. It seems weird to me that it would have all the automatic buttons everywhere else to open it but not this feature. And each time I go to open up the trunk from the back, I feel like I'm going to break it because it sounds like it's on a "track". Does this seem right or do they just not want to fix it?

I had the same issue with a 2010 RX450h that I recently bought (March of this year). The dealer was able to fix the issue by programming the button on the back (above the license plate) to activate the remote lift.
Bought the vehicle from a third party, but took it to Lexus for 80K service check up.
YMMV depending on your local dealer.
Hope this helps.

I also have a 2010 RX350. Mine is also not programmable. My dealer worked very hard to make this automatic for me. But after much research they found that there was no ability to do so. It appears that some of the 2010 models can be programmed to do this and some can't. It may have to do with when it was manufactured. I just open mine by depressing the button on the trunk lid and gently get it started upward. Or I use the key fob or dash panel button for the automatic feature.
