When I press the button on my remote to open the trunk it just beep for aprx. 1 second but does not open the trunk. The button underdash works when the ignition is on. I tried using my other remote but does the same.

Anyone have this problem before and anyone know what is wrong with the button? Hopefully it is an easy fix.

 

Are you holding the trunk button down for a couple seconds? The trunk button doesn't 'react' as quickly as the door-locks.... but if you're hearing the beep, that's usually the sign that it 'heard' you push the button... good luck.

 

Yea, I pushed it and held it for a second. That is when I hear the beep, but the trunk does not open.

The button underdash only works when the ignition is on.
If the ignition is not on, the button does not work.

 

My dash button works with out the key in the ignition.
I just open the door push the button and either the gas cap (Oops wrong button) or the trunk opens.

 

The dash button should open the trunk anytime, not just when the ignition is on. The fact that it does open means that the latch works when it gets the right signal. Something is messed up with the signals that control these things. Perhaps having the dealer re-set the appropriate computer will fix things. This is a very strange set of symptoms, however.

 

Forgot to say that the interior overhead lights don't turn on when the door is open. But when the ignition is on and they door is open, then the lights are on.

The automatic lights do not turn off automatically also. The parking lights do not flash when I turn press the lock or unlock button.

Anyone have these problems? I assume it is link up somewhere at one location? One day all of those just decided not to work all at the same time if I recall correctly.
