Default Angling side mirror when backing up problem.

When i first got my rx350 the auto angling side mirrors always worked, When i put the car in reverse it would automatically go down, so i could see where the curb was. Now after a couple of months it stopped working, every time i went reverse the mirrors won't angle down. What's the problem?

In order for mirror to tilt it need to be selected on mirror control panel. I think you are able to tilt one at a time. I am talking about the panel located on the driver's door.

I am sure this is in the manual, but as I recall you have to have the mirror selector switch in the neutral position or they will not adjust when you put it in reverse. I am sure someone else here can confirm that and/or point you to the appropriate section of the manual.

In order for the rear view side mirrors to automatically tilt down when you place the vehicle in reverse, either the left or the right side mirror adjustment needs to be selected (lit) on the control panel on the drivers door.

If you accidentally pushed the same button twice (whether left side or right side), this places the system in the "neutral" position, the light turns off and the auto tilt feature no longer engages when you the the vehicle in reverse.

Regardless of the left or right side being selected, both mirrors will tilt when placing the vehicle in reverse.
