The strangest thing has happened to my 450h tailgate, there are two patches of yellow that are popping up. I'm attaching a pic. These were not there when I bought it back in June (it is not under warranty/purchased from a small local dealer). Last week I started to notice a faint yellow tint in those spots, but it's like it's getting worse over time. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Are there any signs that the trunk was repainted? Try running clay bar over the area and see if it's takes off anything.

Absolutely no signs it's been repainted. The carfax was clean, we are the 2nd owner. I tried using clay bar, it made no difference. It looks as if it's under the clear coat.

Take it to a couple of body shops for their opinions.
