Hi All -

Have searched both online and the owners manual on how to disable the automatic downward tilt feature on the outside mirrors of my '02 CL when backing up but can't find anything. Anyone know how to do it or if it can even be done?

I'm starting to hear a very very slight grinding noise when they adjust (driver's side only) so thought I'd just leave them permanently in the normal position if possible before something more serious happens.

Just leave the switch that controls left/ right mirror in the middle and they won't tilt.

 

Put the mirror selection lever (the one in centre of mirror adjuster) into middle position.

Actually your logic is somewhat not entirely correct. If you stop using mirror motors, they will soon completely seize...
