I could not agree more. The Michelin Premier LTX V are excellent tires.

What are your thoughts on which is a better tire?

Bridgestone - Dueler H/L Alenza Plus

or

Michelin - Defender LTX M/S

At Costco the Michelin would normally be $110 more for a set of 4 but due to a rebate they are only about $40 more. I'm not worried about $40 - what's the better tire? Mostly city driving with some occasional long trips.

Thanks.

Michelin - Defender LTX M/S is a better tire. You will be pleased driving with them.

Bridgestone is a better tire.

Because Michelin makes about 17 of the worst tires on earth.

All the reviews I read are so mixed. Some people love the Michelins and hate Bridgestones, some love the Bridgestones and hate the Michelins. Some love both and say there isn't much of a difference.

Tire Rack rates them very close with the Michelins getting a slight edge in traction and performance and the Bridgestones getting a slight edge in comfort and tread wear.

Decisions decisions...

BLexodus, I had Alenzas on the 330. They were great in the snow. But tread wear wasn't the best. I dumped them after 35k for a set of OE Michelin. Funny, that's the one brand I haven't gotten on the RX new.until now. Well, sort of. The '16 came with Bridgestone. Dealer swapped the rims from another F-Sport with Premiers. I had those on the '10 for several months and liked the ride .Price is pretty reasonable too. Of the three OE tires, the preference is Michelin first and Bridgestone second. It's also true for the 4RX.

Default run-flats

Has anyone used run-flats with the RX? I searched but cannot find any users. I know run-flats will provide a harsher ride due to the stiffer side-walls, but I think the benefit of being able to drive with 0-psi is worth the compromise.

I noticed the Pirelli Scorpion Verde All-Season has run-flats available.

Any thoughts on run-flats for the RX?

Blecch! Why would anyone voluntarily put run-flats on a car?! Half of the BMW owners are trying to get away from them because that hateful company insists on using them.
They're awful! The zombie apocalypse is NOT coming. You will have time to address a flat tire when your TPMS notifies you of it, (long before you even feel it). They're not fixable, right. You realize that, right? "Being able" to drive on zero psi doesn't really count for me when you get to throw a $400 tire away right afterward.
Please don't.

Actually, not fixable is incorrect. I've had run-flats patched - like a regular tire - when I hit a nail.

Default Bridgestone Dueler H/L 422 Ecopia VS. Michelin Premier LTX

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone had that chance to compare these two tires (in terms of quietness and comfort) on on the 3RX?

Thanks

Hi,

Has anyone tried both the Bridgstone dueler H/L 422 Ecopia and the Michelin Premier LTX? Which do you think is better in terms of a quiet ride?

Thanks

I had the Bridgestone Dueler 400 XL's as the OEM tires on my 2013 RX350. Not sure how similar they are to the Escopias. I replaced them after 47,000 miles, and they still had a couple months tread left on them. I now have the Michelin Premier LTX's, and notice very little difference in handling, mileage or noise. I don't drive in any snow, but I would have to give a slight preference to the Michelins.

I am a big Michelin fan and run them on all my cars. However, I am surprised at the road noise generated by the Lattitudes that came with my RX. Can anyone compare the Michelin Lattitudes with the Defender LTX M/S?

By the way, I've had CrossTerrains (discontinued) and now LTX MS2's on my 4Runner and both ride super quiet and smooth. Also very capable in all weather.
