Michelin Premier LTX are on the RX now.

Very positive first impression. No more tire road noise!
Great steering feedback. Traction is awesome. Tires do not break off in straight-line acceleration.
When they do when turning under WOT, it is very linear, unlike previous sets that had more hop action when VDIM kicked-in.
Turns can now be taken quicker, as there is traction to support it.

Amazing tires. No wonder they were fine-tuned for Lexus RX 2016 model:

Good luck with the Premiers, vlad. I had them on the '10 for about seven months before trading in. Less firm than the Scorpion Verdes but I liked the ride. They're on my '16 now.

I mentioned I got the Michelin Premier LTX and notice worse gas mileage (last few tanks). My driving, routes, gas, are the same, etc.
MPG is down near 2 mpg (2013 RX 450h) to ~27mpg.
I guess maybe due to the new tires?

Thoughts?

My mistake... they read 37-38psi when warm. I just boosted them from ~34 to 37.

I have had the new Michelin Premier LTX's on my 2013 RX 350 FWD, for close to 5K miles now. I still notice very little discernable difference, in ride, noise or mileage, than my OEM Bridgestones. Still averaging 23+ mpg on the interstate at 75 mph.

 

I've just done some additional reading on the Premier LTX's since I picked up a screw in one of my Latitude Tour HP's this weekend. The Tour HP's are really expensive, like $280 each, but in Michelin's tire family lineup change that's in progress, a number of tires are being consolidated into either the Defender or the Premier series. If you compare the specs on the Latitude Tour HP with the Premier LTX, the LTX has better numbers and supposedly better formulation for improved wet and snow grip with higher mileage ratings. If I do end up having to replace the tire, it will be with the Premier LTX which is about $80 per tire cheaper!

 

My mother has a '13 RX350 and is due for new tires before winter. The Michelin Premier LTX looks good on the tirerack reviews but I am concerned that they only start with 8.5/32 when they are new. There seems to be a lot of fans of this tire on here as well as the Pirelli Verdes. Anyone with experience with the Premier LTX care to comment on the tread wear since it has a much lower starting tread depth?

 

Looking for new tires and debating between Michelin Defender and the Nokian entire 2.0. Both are same price.

I got the non 2.0 eNTYRE on daughter's Camry. Rides good. Got Ohtsu FP7000 for the ES350. More affordable yet mellow ride and wife can't tell the difference between them and OEM Michelins.

 

had my 25k mile service(but at 27K), and shortly after started to notice a humming noise.... sounds like a knobby tire, or wheel bearing noise.
It started off barely noticeable(wife didn't hear it). but now at 30K it's really noticeable and it's annoying.
i checked all PSI, and all is normal. Tires all look good.

I have less than 25K on my lease, and i have 2 winters to blaze through before i hand the keys back.
i'm hoping that the noise is just the tires, and not something worse...

I know Michelins are top rated, but i really don't want to spend top dollar either for less than 25k miles of use...
any recommendations?

Check for something called cupping or feathering. It's harder to notice visually but can cause your noise.
I wouldn't use Michelin tires if they were free and the most knowledgeable tire people i personally know agree with me. Still, others swear by them, so it's kind of like arguing about brands of oil. Just some internet guy's opinion.
If you don't see cupping/feathering, get the vehicle checked properly. Don't buy tires hoping it'll fix your mystery noise.

 

just curious if you could give reasoning behind not using michelin's and also what tire would you recommend.
