Default 255/55R18 Tires

Anyone have recent picture and/or feedback on putting 255/55R18 Tires on stock OEM 2013 RX350 Rims? Any rubbing or did you need spacers or is it a perfect fit? I am currently running 235/60R18 tires. The 255/55R18 diameter is almost exactly the same just a tad bit wider..... thoughts????

A site that I use is Tire-calc which shows about 3/4 inch wider and same diameter which will be 3/8" on either side, won't be any rubbing with 255/55r18's but phone Costco or local tire shop to confirm;

Looking to pull the trigger on a set of tires in the next day or two. After much research, I have narrowed it down to the Conti LX25 or Conti DWS06 Plus. Has anyone here tried the DWS06 or considered it? I sure wish Costco carried Conti, but they don't, around here anyway. I did take a real close look at Pirelli and Michelin because that's what Costco carries. Thanks.

The Conti DWS06 is a performance tire. The RX is NOT a performance vehicle. Go with the Conti LX25. It is made for these crossovers and will last much longer than the DWS06.

I have owned both the LX25 and the DWS06 (on parents Accord and my Passat), I've never even considered putting a DWS06 on an RX. I would tend to agree, go with the LX25. I don't have a direct comparison, but I am one of the few that did not like the DWS06 on my Passat. It was a highway cruiser, the DWS06 had glowing reviews and were available so I did it, only to find it was not any quieter than the 8 year old touring tires they replaced. Lots of noise over expansion joints and imperfect roads.

2014 RX450h AWD

235/55/19

I just ordered the Pirelli - Scorpion All Season Plus 3. Read some good reviews about them. I’ll update after a few miles on them.

I think the TPMS is original. I guess I should change them. Where should I get the replacements and what brand?

What size did you get? I’m looking at 255/55R18 on OEM wheels. They are a lot wider than the factory 235/60R18’s with almost the same overall diameter with no rubbing. Definitely get all new quality TPMS sensors.

HIGHLY RECC Continential DWS06+. Just installed them on my RX and am absolutely in love with them. They're quiet, grippy (esp noticeably in the wet!), very comfortable and were noticeably cheaper than my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ that I had before (now discontinued) which lasted a good 7 years and ~60k km. I have no doubt these DWS are superior in every way except for feedback / steering feel (not that the DWS isn't playful though!). They're just as grippy if not grippier, but a LOT more comfortable and supple, even with the 19"! I was thinking of messing with the springs to get it softer, but now I want to leave it alone! They're not quite as grippy as the A/S 4 on my 2008 RX350, but for this type of car, it's more than enough!

I am waiting to see if a buddy of mine has any 30% off coupons from his brother that works for Goodyear. I’m leaning towards the Assurance Maxlife 2. I will get the Goodyear card $160 off a set of 4 and a 30% discount that will be a good deal. If I can’t get the coupon then I’m buying Michelins. I feel there are no better but the Assurance would be my 2nd choice. I want highway comfort.
