Active stabiliser control
Hello. I have just been diagnosed with requiring an Anti-roll bar for my RX450h 3rd Gen. Research has shown that I must be one of VERY FEW owners of one that has an active stabiliser control (With built in motor). that has a supply cost of circa £11K. Lexus are refusing to deal with this or help in any way. Does anyone have experience of this problem and if so, is there a way or replacing the motorised version for the standard anti roll bar?
Did a dealer tell you this? What are your symptoms? This is a very rare option. I bet you also have air suspension.
What year? Front or rear anti-roll bar? The rear is easy to replace. The front is much more involved as the motor has to be lifted up a bit.
Never heard of it in the US>but did find this old thread has a video link from Lexus showing it was a rare option and on both front and rear. At about the 2:07 onward mark they show them front and rear.

Can you post photos? Use the "go advanced" option to post photos, although sometimes you can drag or copy and paste them.
That cost may be more than the vehicle is worth.
Always get a second opinion from an independent shop and they would be more likely to swap in a regular anti roll bar.
There must be many sway bars a/k/a anti-roll bars or stabiliser bars in wrecking yards (auto recyclers). Just get new end links and center bushings.

thank you for your thorough response. It’s very useful and along the lines of my own thoughts. The front is the one that has failed. But I’m guessing that I would have to replace front AND back as they are both motorised, and then find a way of re-setting the management systems to eradicate the light / dashboard message. I’m continuing to investigate options but thank you so much for the support. Paul
