RX rear stabilizer bar - how much difference does it make?
My 165K 2001 RX300’s rear stabilizer bar makes a ton of noise at low speeds. I can reproduce the sound moving the bar by hand. Bushings are shot – end links seem OK but not sure. Replacing the bushings may be a problem because the brackets are a rusted mess. Very likely they’re not coming off w/out breaking. If that happens I’m considering taking the SB completely out. Anyone know what effect removing the SB has on the RX’s (already sloppy) handling? Or worse, does it make it unsafe?

It helps in keeping the 'other' wheel firmly planted as you go over uneven surfaces or through turns {anything that changes the geometry of the wheels to road contact}.
You will notice some quirkiness and in extreme case loss of traction [not necessarily moving forward traction, but also lateral traction]

You will notice a major difference, especially going around curves. Doing 25mph without a stabilizer bar will feel like 45mph with one. Operating without stabilizer bar is a very unsafe and bad idea.

It will affect the stability when you need it most. Its a cheap part to replace. If you have a plumbers torch ($12 at home depot) heat the bolt head until it smokes. That will break the rust. Work the bolt in and out until it frees up.
