Default headlight keeps going out

My driver side lower beam (projector) will go out after a couple minutes when its turned on. If I flip the switch to off and then on, it turns back on again. Is this a sign of it going out? Im assuming i have the HID version.

Here is a thread that discusses diagnosing whether it's the bulb of the ballast.

Thanks, i talked to a friend of mine and he said the same too. Can be Bulb or ballast. He suggest the same too, to swap left to right or right to left and see if still goes out.

I aleady placed an order for some osram 5500 since the 4300 wasnt white enough for me lol. I just hope its the bulb and not the ballast.

Does anyone know if i have to take out the bumper to swap the bulbs?

Don't know if this video pertains to AFS equipped or not...

I'd check owners manual for instructions.

My hid bulb showed the same symptoms before going out. You don't need to pull the bumper off to replace the bulb. You can change it from top. Small hands would help. If you're going thru all that trouble, I would drop a new bulb in. It can be a pain to change the bulb. Mine went out last month at 198k. It was the original bulb. I thought the light output was weak because of the haze on the headlight lense but now I get twice as much output with the new bulb. I then switched out the other side and now I can see at night

It's much easier to simply remove the bumper cover. I had the same problem. Luckily it was the bulb. I removed the bumper cover then removed the housings themselves. It's much easier and really isn't that hard to do.

Reporting back, I install new HID and so far no more problems. My brother had to install it for since he his hands was smaller than mine. I'm currently running 5500 osram and looking pretty good.
