Default 2009 HID Headlight

Hi All! I need some advice please. I replaced my right side HID bulb and it is still not working? Any suggestions on why? Dealership wants me to come in and pay for diagnosis...would rather, self diagnose and correct myself if at all possible.

Thank you for any assistance you can give.

Did you swap the bulbs between the left and right headlights? What was the result?

If your left side HID bulb turns on, then you can swap the light bulb left to right. If the right works after the swap, then the new bulb is no good. But if the right side still doesn't work, then it's probably the ballast. You may also want to check the fuse, I'm not sure if there are separate fuses for left or right side (don't have the manual with me).

Thank you for responding. I am pretty sure it is the ballast . Checked the fuses and even bought new ones just in case. I am told you can't buy just the ballast you have to buy the entire headlight assembly. UGH.

You can switch out the ballast by disassembling the part that attaches to the bulb.

Where did you purchase the new bulbs? 95% of the so called "genuine" bulbs you buy off ebay are counterfeit. Low quality bulbs will cause this.

Default Thank You

Thank you ICU2- I have purchased the ballast and will give it a go! SGMIS3, I purchased the bulb through the local Lexus dealership. I plugged it into the left side and it works, so going to try replacing the ballast.

Thank you all again for the advise and guidance!

Thank you so much. What adhesive did you use to adhere the headlamp plastic pieces back together?
