Okay this is strange. Today when I finished work, I got to my car at the train station and started my car up (it has been a hot day, about 35 degrees celsius) and used my remote to wind down the windows to let the trapped hot air escape. I normally do this on hot days. Anyway, started my car up and it turned on without issue. However I noticed that the following lights did not go out on the dash as they normally would.
The car idles as it normally does and the air-con was running perfectly fine. I though before I drive off, turn the car off and on again. All lights went away as per normal and I drove home (about 10-15 mins). Got home and turned the car off and back on and everything was still fine.
I will get a better idea tomorrow when I drop the car off at the train station and start it up again when I finish work.
Has anyone come across this anomaly before? Is this something to be concerned about? It's the first time it has ever happened. The car is serviced regularly and the last thing that was done was an A/T drain and refill.
Dead cell in battery? Low battery voltage causes lots of unusual ECM type problems.
Check you battery voltage and connections to make sure they are good first.

x2. I would get the batter load tested just in case.
The battery is not even 2 years old yet (still has 2 months to go). I did however end up flattening it a couple of weeks ago (left the doors open & playing the stereo while working on the car). Had to jump start it and it has been fine since.

Hmmmm, .......try putting it on a trickle charge for 8 hours. If it`s low, that should do it. Also check water level in the batt. if applicable.
You hit it right on, Mandyfig..... it is the brake light switch problem. Exactly the same thing happened on my 04 RX330. The dealer diagnosed and it was a faulty brake light switch. They replaced at no charge since my CPO warranty expires in Feb 12.
I also saw some post about a radiator recall and I'm not sure if mine had ever been replaced. Though I do not see any coolant leakage and should I contact Lexus to have this recall taken care of?
My radiator was given extended warranty. Just do not know what that means. The brake switch iteslf can be bought outside Lexus and is ~ $25, exact OEM. Just hard to install.
It hasn't happened again. I will keep an eye on it though. Strange that a brake light switch can cause all those items to appear. I would have thought the brake light switch would only do things for the brake lights. Is this the switch behind the brake?
