Default Gen 4 Navigation System

Hello RX owners,
Any of you that may own any of the following vehicles that contain the Gen 4 Navi system please assist me, ES330 2004-2006, GX470 2005-2006, LX470 2004-2007, RX330 2005-2006, GS300 & GS430 2006, SC430 2005-2009, & RX400h 2006. Please advise the clarity of your Navi screen. On mine the major roadways (interstates & others) are not clear. They are shown but have quiggly/wiggly/wavy/broken lines on them. Very distracting. They are not clear and well defined as my other Lexus vehicles were. I have installed the latest disc (10.1) without any help. I have an appointment tomorrow am with the Dealer and need some input and the help I can muster from you as users. Please let me know how yours are. I haven't received any response from the LX forum. I'm betting on you guys because the RX forum is the best. Sorry about the length. My vehicle is a 2007 LX470.
Many thanks,
Don

Sorry, no photos at this time. I may have to come up with some for Lexus. The Dealer indicated over the phone when making the appointment for tomorrow am that it may be normal. I really find that hard to accept for a Lexus. We shall see.
Thanks,

The clarity on mine is acceptable, but nowhere near stunning. I know that the GEN5 NAV system has a much clearer screen (more pixels or something).

Don,

If you are referring to the graphics, I am sorry to say that it is normal. I have Gen 2-3 and some of the SC'ers have upgraded to NAV 4 but we all still have the same "so much to be desired" graphics.

You are not talking about resolution are you?

Hey Mandy,
Thought you had gotten rid of me, did you?? Yes, I think it is partially the resolution but I have never seen anything like mine is displaying. The only example I can come up with on the keyboard is something like this: ___-----
____----- (some longer that others) plus a wiggly line over the entire major roadway. Really makes the screen look terrible. I have tried different screen settings (color) and change the distance from 150' to 2 miles. All exhibit the same result. I'm hoping after my appointment tomorrow there will be a fix.
If not I will be one frustrated LX owner. Many thanks friend.

FYI,
Learned this am from the Dealer tech that my navi system is operating normal.
Just so happened that another gentleman was there that owned an '03 LX and he stated that his was the same but he just got use to it. So you folks with a gen 4 system we all may as well get use to it because it isn't going to change IMO. However, Lexus Hq phoned me this pm on another subject so I made use of the opportunity to advise her about the navi problem. Suggested that Lexus come up with a new graphics card, or whatever is is in the system, that I felt certain would correct the majority on the problem. Stated she would but I'm not very optimistic this will happen. Anyway, just enjoy your Navi gen 4 as it is and I am going to try and do the same.

My Garmin gps works much simpler and is much more updated than the nav system in my RX350. It's a pain in the geetus. I never try to use it anymore and wish there was some way to turn it off completely. The map is continually popping up which irratates. There are several roads that are not showing on the map(s) that I know for certainty that have been built and open for 13 years and some more.

Not to thread jack but how do I find out which software I have without taking the disc out? I haven't read my manual. Thanks.
